The United States Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia Palmer has advised that the anti-LGBTQI+ bill could push Investors away from Ghana.
She believes that if the measure is passed, it will drive away investors from the LGBTQI community as well as other American investors from Ghana.
Madam Parlmer made these remarks after alerting Ghana about the anti-gay measure presently before Parliament.
“Ghana is a very welcoming, tolerant society with a lot of interreligious harmony, a lot of ethnic harmony, which makes Ghana strong, stable, and appealing for investments.”
“I hope it stays that way for the LGBTQI community.” There is money to be earned, and the colour of your money is green or red, but if there is discrimination or worse, that will send a signal to other American companies, not only LGBTQ investors,” she told journalists in an interview on Thursday, August 10.
