A rescue team from the Mankessim Fire Station, led by ADO II B Eduful, responded to a serious road traffic accident at Nananom Junction on the Accra-Cape Coast highway at 1048 hours.
The crash involved a Sprinter Mini Bus, a Hyundai Hi Mini Cargo, and a Toyota Hiace.
Upon arriving at 1050 hours, the crew found one victim trapped in a mangled vehicle and successfully extricated him at 1110 hours.
Eight (8) other casualties had already been transported to the Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital in Mankessim before the crew’s arrival. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The accident resulted in significant damage to the front sections of the vehicles involved, and several cartons of fresh fish were lost.
