Nollywood actor, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo popularly known as Junior Pope is reportedly alive following earlier news of his death.
National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas Ejezie in an Instagram post few hours after the earlier reports about Pope’s death, said the actor is “is alive and taking treatment in the hospital.”
Pope was reported dead on Wednesday [April 10] afternoon after a boat he was travelling in capsized while returning from a movie location.
With three of his colleagues, Pope was reported dead after they were drowned in River Niger in Asaba, Delta State leading to their death.
Shortly after that, his body was deposited at a morgue but the mortuary attendant reportedly rejected the body claiming that “he was still alive.”

He was subsequently sent to a water shrine for rituals. Emerging videos circulating online show Pope a bit healthy and alive while efforts are being taken to revive him.
Reports are now rife that the actor is not dead and currently receiving treatment at the hospital while being placed on oxygen.
