Mr. Samuel Nana Yaw Smith Dadzie has been elected as the President of the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) at the just-ended 21st Annual Residential Delegates Congress held on Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th October 2023 at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya.
Other Officers who were equally elected to lead the Union into new frontiers include, Mordecai Nsiah Dwomoh, General Secretary; Daniel Obeng Danquah, Financial Controller; Edmund Fandoh-Wilson, Co-ordinating Secretary; Isaac Dadzie, Treasurer; Dora Goodhead, International Relations Secretary; Yaa Adjei Agyemang Adepa, Women’s Commissioner; John Wesley Donkor, Programs and Projects Coordinator; Gideon Kobea Afriyie, Press and Information Secretary.
The newly elected Executives have collectively pledged to be committed and to be effective in carrying out the day-to-day business of the Union. It is their collective goal to raise the standard of the Union and to relentlessly champion the interest of its members.
The outgoing leadership of the Union led by H.E Jemima Emily Nyarko is expected to provide a smooth transition and handing over and offer their utmost support to the incoming executives as they assume their new roles.
