Zimbabweans Start Selling Their Toes Due To High Cost Of Living
People in Zimbabwe have begun to sell their toes for thousands of dollars. This is because of the high cost of living and the government’s failure to produce jobs.
The larger toes are said to cost 40,000 dollars (N16 million naira), while the smaller ones are said to cost 20,000 dollars (N8 million dollars).
There are also unconfirmed prices for the big toe (US$40 000), middle toe (US$25 000), and small toe (US$10,000) in one of the circulating texts.
Some believe it’s the work of a cult, who want the toes in exchange for ten years’ worth of money, but they’ll lose a relative in the process.
Other stories indicate that after agreeing to have a toe amputated, no one else is allowed to see the toe.
In a voice message purportedly belonging to one of the ‘donors,’ she states the procedure was painless, but she got the shock of her life when maggots emerged from her leg.
